Chalmers IPOET Scholarships for International Students
Chalmers University of Technology offers approximately 35 IPOET Scholarships, funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, to outstanding fee-paying international students.
Applicants may also wish to explore the Aldebert Scholarships for students from developing countries.

- Open to all Master’s programmes currently offered at Chalmers University of Technology
Number of Scholarships
- Approximately 35 scholarships
Target Group
- Citizens of non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for studies in Sweden
Scholarship Value and Duration
- 75% reduction of tuition fees for the full duration of the programme (4 semesters / 2 years)
- Students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance during the first year may receive an increased tuition fee reduction of up to 85% for the second year
- The scholarship covers tuition fees only; no funds are paid directly to recipients
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a non-EU/EEA country
- Be required to pay tuition fees for Swedish higher education
- Be first-year applicants to a Master’s programme at Chalmers
Selection is based primarily on academic excellence, including:
- Weighted average grades
- The academic reputation and global ranking of the applicant’s home university
- The priority ranking of Chalmers Master’s programmes in the application
Application Process
- Applicants must first apply to at least one Master’s programme at Chalmers via universityadmissions.se between 16 October 2025 and 15 January 2026
- After submitting the programme application, each applicant will receive an application number, which is required for the scholarship application
- The scholarship application is separate from the Master’s programme application
- Deadline for scholarship applications: January 2026
